deceased was 44 years at the time of his death. At about 1.00 am
whilst he was watching over his fields he was killed. The
elephant was eating the stacked paddy. When he tried to case the
elephant away the elephant had chased him. Has run and fallen
into a stream where elephant has killed him. The wife is not
working. The eldest is employed. The 2nd and 3rd
children attend Siripura Madhya Maha Vidiyalaya, Polonnaruwa and
are in grades 10 and 7 respectively. The 4th child attends
Ratmalkandiya Primary School Polonnaruwa. |

deceased has come to the road at 5.00am to go for a medical
clinic, with her mother and they had seen two elephants. The
elephants attacked them and she was killed and the mother
escaped with broken bones. The mother was in hospital for over
three months. The deceased was pregnant with the baby due in a
month. The deceaseds husband is a mason employed in Colombo.
However he never comes to see the children. All three children
attend Hegala Maha Vidiyalaya in grades 11, 10 and 5.

Bandanagala Wewa. On 17th October 2006 an elephant
had broken their house and eaten the paddy stored there. The

daughter has stopped going to school. The second and third
daughters go to the Ihala Ellewewa Kanishta Vidiyalaya and are
in grades 7 and 2. |
