Training Programmes

 
   
  BECT has carried out training programmes from time to time. Few of which are listed below.
   
 
· Organised a Two week study tour for a veterinarian from the Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Curator of the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, to visit elephant facilities in Thailand.
   
· Organized four separate Training Programme for Veterinarians in Sri Lanka with trainers from India (Dr S. Krishnamurty and Jacob Cheeran), two from Thailand (Drs Preecha Pongksum and Bjorne Clausen) and Dr Harald Schwammer from Vienna Zoo in October 1999, March 2002, June 2003 and August 2004 respectively.
   
· Organised the Asian Elephant Conservationists tour of Kenya to study the elephant research & conservation sites there in September 2004. 13 elephant conservationists, from 8 countries were taken on a tour of Kenya.
